Mrs. Georgia Van Heyste donates SCR 150,000 to the Archbishop Makarios Foundation of Seychelles

The Honorary Consul for Cyprus in Seychelles, Mrs. Georgia Van Heyste, has donated SCR 150,000 to the Archbishop Makarios Foundation of Seychelles, of which she is a Board Member.

The Chairperson of the Board, Chief Justice Rony Govinden expressed his deepest gratitude to Mrs Van Heyste, on behalf of all the Board Members, for her generous donation, which runs in the generous tradition of her father, the late Mr. Panos Papakokkinos, who was a longstanding Board Member.

The donation took place on 4th October 2022, when the Board held a meeting at the Palais de Justice in honour of the arrival in Seychelles of His Excellency Mr. Andreas Nikolaides for his accreditation as the new ambassador. He is based in Muscat, Oman.

During cordial discussions, Ambassador Nikolaides congratulated the Board for its work to revive the charitable legacy of Archbishop Makarios III and expressed his support to the organisation.

Chief Justice Rony Govinden expressed his deepest gratitude to the Government of Cyprus for its interest in the work of the Foundation and discussed possibilities for future cooperation.
